Activities


Having received the formal project approval, NB Power will undertake the detailed design and outage-planning phase leading to the refurbishment outage that will begin in the spring of 2008. During the subsequent 18 months, the fuel channels and the connecting feeder pipes will be replaced. There will also be a number of other changes performed during the outage; for example, replacement of shutdown system trip computers and the rewinding of the generator.

AECL is the general contractor for the work and will execute the project as defined by two fixed price contracts. An NB Power project team will manage AECL's activity under the contracts as well as provide the necessary support from the owner in the conduct of the project activities.
