John Brake
John Brake is AECL’s Project Manager of Health, Safety and Environmental Protection.
As part of this position, John plans and implements programs dealing with Site management of industrial health and safety, environmental protection and emergency planning, radiation protection and control, and contamination monitoring and control. He is also responsible for Security Access Clearance and Radiation Protection Training for AECL and contractor staff and implementation of a waste management program for the retube/refurbishment project.

Alan Benton
Alan Benton joined the Point Lepreau Refurbishment Project in April 2006 as AECL’s Site Quality Assurance Manager.
Before joining AECL, Alan was employed by NB Power during the construction of the Point Lepreau Generating Station in 1978 and for the last two years of construction held the position of Construction Quality Assurance Manager. In total, he spent almost 25 years at the station working in the areas of Quality Assurance, Nuclear Safety & Licensing and Performance Improvement. Alan is passionate about the refurbishment project and the continued success of the Station.

Robert J. Keeler
Robert J. Keeler is AECL's Readiness Director.
Bob is responsible for completing AECL's retube and refurbishment scope of work while holding employee and public safety paramount. Bob started in nuclear construction in the building of Pickering B, and spent 27 years with Ontario Power Generation, where he was involved in the retubing of Pickering A, the recovery of the Pickering Unit 4 rebuild and the successful rebuild of Pickering Unit 1. Bob was hired by AECL as the Field Director for the retube of Bruce Units 1&2 and oversaw the complete remote removal phase of Bruce Unit 2. Since joining the Point Lepreau team, Bob has been welcomed and well supported by NB Power. Bob takes his responsibility to the people of New Brunswick very seriously while leading his integrated team through this project.

John Naugler
John Naugler is AECL’s Site Purchasing Co-ordinator for the Point Lepreau Refurbishment Project.
John joined the AECL Point Lepreau Project team in October of 2005 after spending several months training with the Procurement Group at AECL in Mississauga. John has over 20 years experience in Procurement, holding his Professional Designation from the Purchasing Management Association of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Supply Management.

Clair Ripley
Clair Ripley is AECL's Communication and Liaison Officer for the Point Lepreau project.
Clair has worked for AECL for 13 years as Director of Education Programs for Atlantic Canada and most recently as Liaison Officer leading up to the refurbishment decision. He is a graduate of Mount Allison University in Geology and Education and is a retired principal and science teacher. He is probably best known for his community and energy related initiatives.

David Harrington
David Harrington is AECL’s Deputy Project Director for CANDU® 6 Refurbishments at Point Lepreau.
Appointed on June 6, 2008, David is responsible for all commercial, project control, procurement and contract management aspects of the project as well as oversight of the Saint John Office facilities. An industry expert in the field of project management and cost engineering, David brings over 40 years of experience to this role. His expertise in the CANDU industry, including 36 years at AECL in positions of ever-increasing responsibility, give David the experience to successfully lead this project. |
Ian Trotman
Ian Trotman is AECL’s Vice President of Life Extension Projects and Project Management.
Ian is responsible for best practice project management strategies, processes, procedures and risk management for all major undertakings in the CANDU Reactor Division. He also serves as Project Director, Point Lepreau Refurbishment Project, where these are applied. Beginning his career with British Nuclear Fuels, Ian moved to Canada in 1981 where he became involved in refurbishment and project management at two major nuclear facilities in Ontario. Ian joined AECL in 2005 and was most recently Vice-President for CANDU Services.
